Mujer-Espejo nos adentra en un viaje introspectivo a través de la mirada. Reflejo capturados a lo largo del tiempo que revelan no sólo la realidad aparente sino también, esos espacios que, a veces, se aproximan a lo intangible.
En la serie uso una mirada intuitiva, mujeres fotografiadas a través de espejos que aparecen difusas, fragmentadas, disgregadas sobre la superficie especular, pero no es el ojo el que mira a la persona, es la imagen proyectada la que se refleja en la mirada.
Desde mi infancia, el espejo me ha cautivado por su extrañeza; la reiteración de rostros y descubrir partes de mi propio cuerpo que no identificaba, me alejaba más que aproximaba, a la idea de persona que mi imaginario había construido. Esa realidad compleja que nos envuelve, la multiplicidad de la que estamos compuestas ha ido modelando esta serie de imágenes: “yoes” entretejidos al entorno que nos rodea.
Mirror-woman
Mirror-Woman takes us on an introspective journey through the gaze. Reflections captured over time reveal not only the apparent reality but also those spaces that sometimes verge on the intangible. In the series, I use an intuitive gaze: women photographed through mirrors, appearing blurred, fragmented, scattered across the specular surface. Yet it is not the eye that looks at the person—it is the projected image that is reflected in the gaze.
Since childhood, the mirror has fascinated me with its strangeness: the repetition of faces and the discovery of parts of my own body I could not identify distanced me, rather than bringing me closer, to the idea of a person that my imagination had constructed.
This complex reality that envelops us, the multiplicity of which we are made, has shaped this series of images: “selves” interwoven with the environment that surrounds us.
